PRACTITIONER WORKING WITH SCHOOLS AND FAMILIES
My work background is essentially in a small family watch and jewellery business, while my academic background is in the welfare of children and young people – which is why I decided to have a career change and work towards this cause. I graduated with a 2:1 in Early Childhood Studies at the University of Warwick and followed that with a Masters in Childhood in Society.
I have volunteered and worked for Barnardos for over 5 years now, which is where I have had lots of training around domestic violence, safeguarding, Protective Behaviours and more. I have four children of my own, so understand all too well the complexities of parenting, growing up and the benefits of a good education. When adversities do occur in children’s lives, they also become barriers to learning. By working in schools I feel like I am helping many children overcome these barriers so that they can go on to make a success of themselves and reach their highest potential in life moving forward.
I believe that children and young people are the gems of our society. Children and students learn best when their emotions are settled and they are in a calm and confident state. I work closely with children in the following:
- parental divorce
- Sibling rivalry
- Exam and study stress
- Bullying at school or online
- Bereavement
- Trauma or abuse
Any of these challenges are likely to cause mild to severe anxiety in children and young people. As a result, several areas of life may be affected for this child or young person, creating barriers to learning and keeping them from achieving their full potential in education.

I am a Licensed NLP4Kids Practitioner, NLP4Parents Practitioner and NLP4Teachers Practitioner. In working alongside Superheroes, my aim is to reach out to schools and families in supporting the children and young people to be the best that can be and to have the confidence and self-esteem to do this!
