PRACTITIONER WORKING WITH SCHOOLS AND FAMILIES

“Heroes are made by the path they choose, not the powers they are graced with” – Iron Man.

I chose to become a superhero because I love seeing the positive changes the young people and families make to their lives through my therapeutic work with them. I want to make this accessible to those who would not normally be able to afford it.

As a child therapist, I work with children and their parents supporting emotional and mental wellbeing within the family. This is either in group workshops or in one-to-one sessions.

Group workshops are held in schools or in the local community and are a fun way to learn valuable life skills and to meet other people who are facing similar challenges. These skills will help children to increase confidence and grow into well balanced, mentally healthy adults.

One-to-one sessions are held in my NLP clinic in Ashford, Kent or via virtual communications. These are highly effective at helping people to overcome specific problems, for example, phobias, anxiety, PTSD, bereavement, OCD, anger, or bullying. There is a growing need for emotional and mental health support in Kent. I see many opportunities in my local community to support families and Superheroes allows me to help those who need it the most with funding and generous donations.

My Superhero mission is to educate the children of Kent to understand their emotions better, giving them the skills they need, to grow into happy adults. Being a parent myself, I am all too familiar with the many challenges facing our children today.

Having experienced some of these challenges alongside my own children, I have become aware of how difficult it can be to find help in times of adversity. I remember feeling quite helpless at times in the past and didn’t know where to turn for support. This became a turning point in my life. I felt compelled to make a positive difference to young people’s lives and I am delighted to now be living out my dream.

Having a teenage son and two younger children at home, I see the importance of having mental health support and provisions in place and being a Superhero makes me proud to be a part of something truly amazing.
